Payables Setup in Oracle Fusion : How to Define Payment Method in Oracle Fusion

Payables Setup in Oracle Fusion : How to Define Payment Method in Oracle Fusion

Payment Method in Oracle applications to make payment to your suppliers. It specifies in which format you are making the payment to your supplier. We can process payment to suppliers in different ways in Oracle applications. You can use a payment method to pay one or more suppliers. Oracle Payments supports several payment methods for funds disbursement.

In Oracle Financials, there are 4 payment methods.
  1. Check
  2. Electronic (EFT)
  3. Wire
  4. Clearing

Check:- If you want to do payment to your supplier in the form of Checks then you can use this payment method for this. You can associate a check number series for your current check book with this payment method and then associates and reconciles you check with the bank statement in future.

Electronics:- If you want to transfer payment to your supplier electronically then you should use this payment method. This payment method transfer fund to your supplier electronically to your supplier bank accounts. System will create one instruction file with all the Details of invoice and payment. This file will send to bank for payment

Wire:-

Wire Funds transfer initiated by contacting the bank and requesting wire payment to the bank of a supplier. A payment method where you pay invoices outside of Payables by notifying your bank that you want to debit your account and credit your supplier’s account with appropriate funds. You provide your bank with your supplier’s bank information, and your bank sends you confirmation of your transaction. Your supplier’s bank sends your supplier confirmation of the payment. You then record the transactions manually.

Clearing:-

In this process you will not make Payment physically. This is used as adjustment for intercompany transfers and transfer between the branches

Payables Setup in Oracle Fusion : Financials Option setup in Fusion

Payables Setup in Oracle Fusion : Financials Option setup in Fusion

Define Financial Options in Oracle Payables is the quite important setup in Oracle application. It is the important part of the Fusion Payables Configuration. We do configurations here for Oracle Payables , Oracle Purchasing , Assets. You can define defaults in this window to simplify supplier entry, requisition entry, purchase order entry, invoice entry, and automatic payments. Depending on your application, you may not be required to enter all fields.

If you change an option and it is used as a default value elsewhere in the system, it will only be used as a default for subsequent transactions. For example, if you change the Payment Terms from Immediate to Net 30, Net 30 will be used as a default for any new suppliers you enter, but the change will not affect the Payment Terms of existing suppliers.

You are required to enter defaults for the Accounting Financials Options in the Accounting region. If you do not use encumbrance accounting or budgetary control, you do not need to enter defaults in the Encumbrance region. If you do not also have Oracle Purchasing installed, you do not need to enter defaults in the Supplier - Purchasing region. If you do not have Oracle Human Resources installed, you are not required to enter defaults in the Human Resources region. If your organization does not need to record a VAT registration number, you don't need to enter defaults in the Tax region. Payables uses most of the Supplier-Payables Financials Options as defaults in the Suppliers window

Standard Memo Lines in Oracle Receivables. How to Define Standard Memo Lines

Standard Memo Lines in Oracle Receivables. How to Define Standard Memo Lines

We define standard Memo lines for AR Invoices , Debit Memos , Charge Backs. Oracle Receivables Display these Standard Memo Lines as a List of Value in AR Invoices , At Debit Memos Lines. When you create chargebacks and debit memo reversals, you can either use the standard line that Receivables provides or enter your own. You can create an unlimited number of standard memo lines.

If Auto Accounting depends on standard line items, Receivables uses the revenue account that you enter here along with your Auto Accounting setup to determine the default revenue, freight, AutoInvoice Clearing, Tax, Unbilled Receivable, Unearned Revenue, and Receivable accounts for invoices with this line item.
Receivables lets you enter tax code, unit list price, and unit of measure information for each standard memo line. You can also specify a standard invoicing and accounting rule for each standard memo line.

Step1:-
Go to Navigator è Setup and Maintenance

Standard Memo Lines in Oracle Receivables. How to Define Standard Memo Lines

Step2:- Find the Manage Receivables Document Sequences as Below

Step3:-
Enter the Name and a Description of this memo line. Receivables prints this description on your debit memo, on-account credit, debit memo reversal, chargeback or invoice.

Choose a line type of Line, Freight, Tax, or Charges.
Enter the Unit List Price for this memo line (optional). Receivables displays this price on the debit memos, on-account credits, chargebacks, and invoices you create using this standard line.

If the type of this memo line is 'Line,' enter a Unit of Measure. Receivables defaults the unit of measure to this value when you choose this standard line item during invoice or memo entry.

Enter the Revenue Account for this memo line (optional). When you create a debit memo or on-account credit, this revenue account will be the default for each standard memo line that you select. When you create debit memo reversals or chargebacks, Receivables uses the Revenue Flexfield from the original receivable item as the credit account.

Enter the Invoicing Rule to use with this standard line (optional). Receivables does not currently use this information when you select a standard line (in the Lines window during invoice entry) to which you have assigned a standard invoicing rule. Oracle Order Entry assigns standard invoicing rules to standard lines for orders that you import through AutoInvoice.

Document Sequence in Oracle fusion. How to define Document Sequences in Oracle Fusion

Document sequence numbers are unique numbers which can be assigned to transactions you create in Receivables. Assigning unique numbers to transactions lets you account for every transaction you enter
It is very simple to generate a unique Voucher Number, for a document created in EBS modules. This is achieved through Document Sequence in Oracle fusion.

There are two steps for Document Sequencing:
Define
Assign

Step1:-
Go to Navigator è Setup and Maintenance

Step2:- Find the Manage Receivables Document Sequences as Below.

Step3:- To create new Document Sequence Click on the '+' icon as below.

Step4:- Create the New Document Sequences as below

Automatic: The number will be generated automatically, but might not be gapless if there are more than one user working on same document category
Manual: The user has to manually enter the document number
Gapless: The sequence will be gap less even when there are more user working on the same category, but it requires memory as the application will reserve the sequence number and will not generate it until the document is successfully committed.

What is Receipt Sources in Oracle. Receipt Source Setup

In Receipt sources we provide default values for the receipt class, payment method, and remittance bank account fields for receipts you add to a receipt batch. You can accept these default values or enter new ones. Receipt batch sources can use either automatic or manual batch numbering.

You can specify a default receipt batch source when defining the profile option AR: Receipt Batch Source. If you specify a default receipt batch source, Receivables displays this source in the Receipt Batches window when you create your receipt batches.

When you select a receipt batch source to enter receipts, Receivables automatically uses the Cash, Unapplied, Unidentified, On-Account, and Earned and Unearned Discount account information you assigned to the payment method for this batch source. The payment method accounts for the receipt entries and applications you make using this receipt batch source

Receivables provides the automatic receipt source 'Automatic Receipts.' You cannot update this predefined receipt source except for the Last Number field. All of the receipt batch sources you define are created with a Receipt Source Type of Manual.
